Winter news from The Boat House b&b Laugharne

The decorating is done for now! That’s not to say it’s finished, more that we have run out of steam.

Christmas was good. We had some lovely clients at The Boat House and they kindly brought us a gorgeous scented candle and a white amaryllis which has bloomed twice. They had Christmas dinner here, three courses with crackers and all the trimmings. The feedback was very positive.

New Year and we had some regular visitors whose granddaughter treated them to a night here. What a great gift idea. We also hosted a super couple who normally run a pub and wanted a well deserved break. Their New Year’s Eve dinner with us seemed to score highly, it was a fish extravaganza.

Then, mid January, we got married. Aaaahhhhh. We are proof that there is always hope! The day was sunny and crisp, just as we wanted. The celebrations went well, with catering by another delightful couple who we met when they stayed with us last summer. Flowers were by Sienna, hair by Bethaney, both are in Carmarthen and they each did us proud. The last guests stayed until 2am so clearly they all enjoyed themselves too.

Now we are hoping Spring will arrive soon and that the summer will be drier than last year. Bookings are encouraging and our reviews are fantastic. Running our b&b is harder work than you’d think but it keeps us out of trouble. The next major events are Easter and then the famous Laugharne weekend. Bring it on.
