Our bed and breakfast in Laugharne is called The Boat House, and it has its very own link with Dylan Thomas. Apparently when the place was still a pub (The Corporation Arms) Dylan used to sit in what is our Scarlet Room, telling stories in exchange for a little refreshment.
Many locals fondly remember the days when you could play darts, drink, or have a New Year’s party here.
It’s a bit more sedate now, but it’s still a great place for Dylan Thomas fans, walkers (who can go on his Birthday Walk which starts over the road on the estuary), history buffs and anyone looking to escape.
You can even book the Scarlet Room and soak up the literary vibes. Just call us on 01994 427263
Meanwhile, here is an inspiring view from when we visited Dylan’s Boat House, the place where he wrote many later works.
